True decadence and a proven favourite. The certified organic ingredients and the huge percentage of chocolate and cocoa in this recipe is what makes it so delicious for chocolate lovers. It is a very “wet” cake and the simple ganache style icing is super easy to make.
Method
Cake
- What you will need: 1 & 1/2 cups of boiling water, 2 eggs, 250g butter, 100ml cream
- Combine main contents of packet with boiling water and melted butter in a mixing bowl, mix well
- Once chocolate mixture is cooled, add to eggs and beat for a further 5 minutes on high
- Pour mixture into a greased and lined small cake tin
- Bake in a preheated oven on 150c for 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Allow to cool before turning out
Icing
- Warm the cream (do not boil)
- Stir in chocolate icing mixture and mix until silky
- Allow to cool before icing the cake
Don’t waste your precious time trying to melt chocolate over a double pot to get it right. This is all so simple to make. The more you whip the icing mixture the lighter it becomes because of the cream.
